The second season of the children’s television programme “Iftah Ya Simsim” consists of 52 episodes, with each episode lasting about 15 minutes. Various techniques were used in the programme, including drama, tales that feature puppets and characters, two-dimensional and three-dimensional animation, animated movies and dubbed segments. Besides, a total of 52 stories were written and developed for the series. These stories are aimed at different age groups as part of a future project for progressive reading. The second season also features 24 new songs, a theme song and a closing song.
The programme is presented in classical Arabic and the focus of the new season is on STEAM fields, including technology, science, mathematics as well as arts, moral values and social relations, with the content being approved by curriculum experts in several Gulf and Arab countries.
In addition to the popular characters of “Iftah Ya Simsim,” namely Nua’man, Shams, Ka’aki, Gharghour, Almo, Malsoon and Habib, a number of talented children took part in the programme and some current issues were examined in a helpful manner that encourages children, in general, to follow suit.
